Since, it is the God who decides the birth of an Individual, there can not be any mistake or needed correction in the birth environment. There is no need to worry or feel bad about the birth. It is also true that the birth can not be changed. So, attempts to change to a different environment may not be necessary. If some non Hindu is fascinated by Hinduism, he is free to seek an appropriate guide and align his lifestyle with the Eternal Law. As far as the spiritual progress is concerned, he would start from the point where he is. He wont get a jump towards salvation because of the change of lifestyle. However, he will be more aligned with the truth and he is better positioned to move forward. When a Christian or a Muslim or a national of a foreign country decides to follow Sanatana Dharma, he may not be able to identify his Vishesha Dharma. If he could get some guidance from a competent Guru in this respect, it is good. Otherwise, he could continue as a Sudra, may be as a separate new caste.
Similarly, a Hindu could also decide to deviate from the eternal law. He is exercising his free will. It is a self inflicted injury in the path of spiritual progress. If later, if he again decides to follow Sanatana Dharma, he could do so after suitable guidance and repentance. Fortunately, for him, the idenfication of his Vishesha Dharma will not become a problem. [19]
