The individualized Vishesha Dharma prescribes varying amount of responsibilities. Brahmana is assigned with the responsibility of preserving Vedas. To learn and to teach. To learn all other professions. To conduct Yagnas and to recite Vedas for the benefit of entire society. It is not easy to adhere to all the rules that are applicable to Brahmana. Kshatriyas and Vyshyas are less restricted in this way, as their lifestyle is binded by less number of rules and regulations. They have to study Veda but they don’t shoulder the responsibility of teaching Veda. Kshatriyas rule the kingdom and Vyshyas take up trade and agriculture. Shudras are least restricted. They don’t study Veda. They don’t take up the responsibilities of a Kshatriya or engage in trade and agriculture. They just take care of the other three Varnas who are engaged in these activities. There are minimum number of rules and regulations are prescribed in the Manusmrithi. They could live anywhere, adopt easy lifestyle. But in no way they are harmed in their spiritual progress as long as their actions are in alignment with the Sastric prescriptions.
