Rebirth

The effect of actions will go beyond death. The accumulated effects of the actions is responsible for the birth. Just as soul in a body passes into childhood, youth and old age, similarly, Self also pass into another body. The self is eternal, indestructible all pervading, stable, ancient, immovable and immeasurable. But The bodies associated with the Self have an end.

In the next world neither father, nor mother, nor wife, nor sons, nor relations stay to be his companions. Relatives leave the dead body on the ground like a log of wood, or a clod of earth and depart with averted faces. Dharma alone follows the soul and remains with him. Man should always accumulate spiritual merit, though slowly, in order that it may be his companion after death. With merit as his companion he will traverse a gloom difficult to traverse. Dharma speedily conducts the man who is devoted to duty and effaces his sins by austerities, to the next world, radiant and clothed with an ethereal body. [9]

Observation: Rebirth is a consequence of causal nature of this world.
