Objectives and Goal of life

Dharma is one of the four objectives – known as purusharthas - that can be sought in this world. They are four purusharthas. Artha, Kama, Dharma and Moksha. Pursuing Artha and Kama, although essential and to someextent inevitable, can not become an ideal for human life. Moksha is the final goal for all living beings as outlined previously. Dharma is the means to achieve Moksha, Artha and Kama. [A.1.6]

Ultimate Goal of life
Brahman is imperishable, the supreme, unmanifested. His essential nature is self-knowledge. Attaining Brahman is the highest goal. The souls who attain Brahman do not take birth again. They dont suffer pain and return to the non eternal destinations. This final destination is highest perfection (liberation). The ultimate goal of life is is realization or Moksha. It is unraveling the mystery of the world. To know its secrets. A realized man does the right thing - always. He does not face any personal problem - pain, sorrow or unhappiness. He has the correct values and very useful to the society.

Every one in this world is moving towards this goal of Moksha. The journey towards Moksha is not hindered by the death or birth. On the other hand, birth is a new opportunity for the Jiva provided by the God to move faster towards Moksha. In general, it is not possible for us to discern our proximity to the final realization. We don’t know, how many more cycles of birth-death we have to undergo before maturing to Moksha. For all practical purposes, it is not required by Jivas to know this. The essential knowledge required to move forward is already available to living beings. i.e., To understand the true nature of that Sanatana Dharma and to live in alignment with the eternal laws. [5]. Our bodies are short lived. Wealth does not last long. Death is constantly knocking at our door step. So accumulation of Dharma is a must.

Observation: The objectives - accumulating Dharma, knowing Brahman and reaching moksha - set by Sanatana Dharma are noble. This approach has the potential of solving the world problems.
